I took my 3 sons and oldest grandson to Kagoagh Fishing Lodge on Canada’s Vancouver Island for what turned out to be a wonderful fishing experience thanks to Captains Tyler & Steve. The country is exceptionally beautiful. Upon arrival, Gina greeted us with a glass of champagne and then provided excellent meals for the next 4 days. Chloe made sure we always had something to drink. Their dog Rambo was a willing guide for our hike to the lake. The ambience of the lodge was perfect for relaxing which my 3 hard working sons enjoyed. We entertained ourselves in the evenings with pool, darts and conversation. My good fiend Bill and his son who joined shared our enthusiasm about Kagoagh Lodge.

The lodge is located in a most scenic location. The rooms and beds ate excellent, The view from your room is amazing. Gina, Tyler and staff are friendly, competent and eager to please. The food was of Michelin 3 star quality. The fishing for salmon, halibut, rock cod and ling cod was very good even at the end of the season. The guides are friendly, patient and very knowledgeable and experience fisherman, The boats are comfortable, powerful and easy to fish from.
We immediately booked a return trip for next year.. Can’t wait !!

All aspects of our trip were great. Pick-up by boat in Coal Harbour was easy. Greeted by Gina and staff with a glass of champagne! Rooms were exceptional. Clean, large and 2 queen size beds. Also have a large walk in shower. Breakfast, bag lunch for the boat and dinner were all you could ask for! Thanks to Gina and Tyler.

Thanks so much for making our recent several-night stay at Kagoagh Lodge such a wonderful experience. The 16 of us had a terrific time kayaking and hiking from your gorgeous Lodge, accompanied on our local walks by Rambo, your friendly German Shepherd! Many of those in our group are experienced travellers, and everyone was impressed with the quality and cleanliness of the accommodations and facilities at Kagoagh. Any concerns or questions by people in our group were attended to cheerfully and very quickly, so we could concentrate on exploring the local area by land and water – and we found much to see and appreciate! The Quatsino Museum visit you arranged was a great hit, and many of us enjoyed a number of hikes to Colony Lake along the interpretive trail, and freshwater swims in the lake, both invariably accompanied by Rambo! We were fortunate to enjoy consistent sunny, warm weather, with mostly light winds, so were easily able to kayak to the Ilstadt Islands, Drake Island, Neurotsos Inlet, Quatsino Narrows and more! The Lodge kitchen, which we used to make group meals each evening, is very well-equipped, and a made meal preparation enjoyable. The conversation, activity, and of course dining areas, all comfortably-furnished, were well-used as were the sun decks and hot tub! We will certainly recommend Kagoagh Lodge to others looking for a great experience in a very special part of Vancouver Island!
